I was so stoked when Kris reached out to me to design the artwork for his upcoming single Spend the Night Together. We had met a few years prior at West Kendall Zine Fest and he was reached out to a few local artists to bring his vision for his new album to life. Kris had already established an overarching visual theme for the record and wanted each single to feel like a unique extension and reinterpretation of that concept.
We worked through two different designs before landing on the final one. In this first draft, both subjects shared felt too clean and connected. It wasn't capturing the emotional distance or the feeling of unrequited love described in the track. Frankly lacked the charming touch of chaos that the album was going for.

For the second version I created enough common ground to keep the (ex) couple connected, but leaned into that feeling of something unrequited. Two people who lacked the emotion to remain lovers but still had all the emotions floating around.
It was such a fun experience working with Kris and seeing how each artist interpreted their respective tracks on the album. There’s something so special about being given the opportunity to work with other Miami artists and create something that feels like us.
